Went for a Sunday lunch not long after the name changed back to Hartwood Hall from Goodwins. Smash mash and poor quality meat, it was much better before. Won't be returning in a hurry, shame.

Booked a meal for Friday night. Not too busy and very spacious. Warm and friendly atmosphere.Service was brilliant, food was great and prices were reasonable. The serving sizes were very good and you definitely get value for money. The vegan options were also great, for starters, mains and dessert. Would definitely recommend.

I do not normally review much, but for this restaurant, I feel I really should. My family all came for a meal around Christmas. My 6 year old daughter found an open space and started to dance. I thought she may be told to take a seat or we would be told to ask her to sit down. No! A lovely Polish waitress came over to her. Asked her if she liked dancing, smiled and then started to dance with her. Then went and got her some colouring pencils and a picture to colour in. The way this waitress treated my little girl was amazing, and with what looked like a very busy shift for the lady too. The food was amazing. If I'm honest I felt a little uneasy when we walked in, as it looked like trendy wine bar style restaurant, and I'm used to carvery places and old fashioned places, but all the staff were great and we had a very nice time. Couldn't recommend them enough. We have been back since, and our experience was just as good. Thank-you to the lady employee who treated my daughter so nicely.

We had the set Christmas menu for our girls night out, pre booked earlier in the year, with a great choice. We were all really happy with our choices. Starters were plentiful and all delicious. Most of us had the traditional Christmas Turkey Dinner :beautiful, in fact the best one I have had in a restaurant. The Staff were lovely, friendly and efficient. The feel of the whole restaurant and bar is one of warm sophistication.

Visited with friends to take advantage of the two meals for 9.95. We were a little late for lunch, and so were starving! Our drinks arrived quickly, and the main courses shortly after. Great food in abundant quantities, and the triple cooked chips are simply fab! Recommend any time!!!
