To open with, I would like to make clear, that although I have not personally purchased anything from this company, I have a lot of experience in fitting parts obtained from them. I would like to point out that, in the past, I posted an honest review concerning this company, and was pressured to remove it. I am now unfettered from that particular Stalinesque encumbrance. All my experience of Harts is from fitting truck parts purchased from them. These can be divided into two types; new, and used. New parts can further be divided into genuine, and non genuine. All the genuine parts supplied by Harts have been top quality, and entirely suitable for purpose, as would be expected.Non genuine parts however, are a very different matter. although some, such as brake parts, are comparable to O.E., a lot of non genuine parts supplied by Harts are cheap, poorly made items, entirely unfit for use. Examples are electric motor assemblies, which last a couple of days. Thermostats are also extremely poor quality. This brings us onto used parts, which can be further divided into used, and 'reconditioned'. A particularly memorable item was a used Cummins engine, described as a 'excellent runner', in fact, this statement was writ large on the rocker cover. However, once fitted, it was discovered that all the coolant ended up in the sump.Other items have included compressors, where they have not bothered to even clean the oil off, where it is seeping from the cylinder head joint.Reconditioned parts fare just as well, one item being a 'reconditioned' front hub. The bearing surface had suffered damage from the bearing spinning, but Harts had just run a grinder over it. The remains of the old split pin were also still lodged in the retaining hole. As regards the staff, veracity is obviously not a quality which Harts require in their staff.. In fact, if the used parts manager told me it was raining, I would check outside before believing him.On the plus side, stock availability is usually very good, and delivery, if not prompt, is certainly reliable. This company will also 'lose' the VAT, for cash sales, which may appeal to you, if you're the petty tax avoiding type.
Having purchaesd a used commercial recently, I have to say that this company are like a breath of fresh air. Old fashioned customer service, a great deal and very quick to resolve a couple of minor issues the lorry had a day or two later. Highly recommended, I will be back!
Rang up on Sat morning.... diagnostic done... parts ordered... car fixed all within a matter of an hour. Friendly staff - cannot fault service. Even got a cup of tea made whilst waiting, and able to use the WiFi. Definitely recommend this place.
They drive for 2 miles down the hard shoulder on m6 to avoid holiday traffic on Friday 26th August 2018 at 1535 Junction 27.. Not only is this illegal but it just shows what type of people they have working for them!Disgusting behaviour and I would actively avoid using this company personally
Absolutely brilliant garage. Jackie in the office cant do enough for you. Felt i could totally trust them not to rip me off like some garages I've been to. Highly recommended
