I joined the class in January 2017 as a way to improve my general fitness level and learn something new. At 47 I had some concerns that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu might be a step too far but I gave it a go anyway. I'm really glad I did. I've been taught by both Professor Matt Callaghan and Wayne Blezard so far and their knowledge and teaching style is excellent. They explain everything very clearly and their passion for their sport is very clear. All the students are really friendly and are happy to take the time to share their knowledge to help you improve. If, like me, you've considered the idea but never followed through, I definately recommend giving Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu a try and if you're looking for a friendly and welcoming club with first class teachers, then I STRONGLY RECOMMEND Gracie Barra Chorley.
