Great place to go! Staff are friendly and very helpful
I went to this shop yesterday and my daughter purchased some crickets and a replacement bulb for her vivarium. The bulb was 8 pounds but when we got it home it was faulty and didn't work. Today we went to return and replace the bulb. I sent my 13 year old daughter into the shop while I waited in the car on her return she came back and said all bulbs are tested when you leave the shop.( I was with her yesterday and they never tested the bulb they just put it in the bag with the crickets) then said they would give her the benefit of the doubt and charged her 4 pounds for a replacement. So knowing our statutory rights I went in the shop to complain about it that they should have just replaced the faulty bulb and not try to rip her off for another 4 pounds. I was told of was aggressive which I was not!!! I asked to speak to the manager and some other member of staff said he was. Anyway after about 5 mins they begrudgingly gave me a refund of the 4 pounds and a replacement bulb. But was then told NOT to come back....I we my family have had a couple of pets from here and also spent a lot of money over the past few years and have found this shop very good but after my experience today me and my family will never return after the way they tried to CON a 13 year old girl out of her pocket money and the way I was spoken to. and also told not to come back. me and my family will take our business elsewhere..oh and when they gave me the replacement bulb (that they always check) they never checked it lol. Luckily this one worked..........
I love Brett's pets for all my animals needs, they're very helpful too with information! It's clever how they have a vets behind it which is handy! Sometimes I just go in to look at the animals
Our reptiles go on holiday here while we're away on holiday! The staff have a real passion for animals and love making a fuss of our adorable skink! All animals very well looked after. The staff really know their stuff! Shop is affordable and we'll laid out.
We went in to have a look at a tortoise for my daughter and was very happy with the service I received. We spoke to Brett himself and asked for some information on the starter kit. He was more than happy to go and print off the information I needed instead of me just writing it down. I then asked if my daughter could hold one and he agreed and said we were more then welcome to come back and visit as she was saving up her own money. He also congratulated her on being responsible enough to do so, that it showed the commitment required to own such a pet. This made my daughter very happy. We were interrupted a few times by other customers, but Brett was very professional and calmly directed them to other staff members or just quickly answered their questions. In all I was very happy with the visit. I actually hold animal husbandry qualifications so know what signs to look for neglect etc but saw none of that at Brett's pets. The shop is very nice and clean and the animals look very healthy from the reptiles to the fish. I am very happy to be starting a potential 80 year commitment with the pet shop!
