Great food, great beer, great gins and a host that genuinely cares for his customers! This is a real gem in a country of below average chain pubs. The food is freshly cooked and is of high quality. Had the beef fillet stroganoff and it was fantastic. Others in our party had gammon and the wrapped chicken, again all were excellent. No wonder you need to book. Will be back soon.

Cosy pub run by friendly people. Nice location for a sunset view. Tasty food

Consistently excellent quality at wallet loving prices. Any special dietary requirements are not an issue as everything is cooked to order. Love this place

This is one of my favourite weekend breakfast places. Last night we decided the following morning we'd go for breakfast but I thought I'd best ring and see if they are serving breakfast due to the festive season and all that. Spoke to Mollie and she confirmed yes they are open and serving breakfast till 11.30 today... I have to say we weren't happy to find they were closed today after I had rang to check last night. There were also another couple of cars with not so happy customers pulling off the car park... Maybe a note on the door explaining why you were closed would have been an idea after telling customers you were going to be open??

Traveling in a large family group, 17 people, we had a hard time finding good places to accommodate us. Our minibus driver mentioned that one of his favorite places was Spinners at Cowling and he was headed over there after he dropped us off. We called ahead, and they happily agreed to set a room for us. We were seated immediately--a welcome relief after a day of walking, and our host informed us that as everything is made fresh, he can adjust any dish to accommodate whatever dietary needs we might have. (Queue heavenly choirs!) We had a several--one vegan and a couple of gluten-free peeps. The food was wonderful! Everything fresh--except for the fabulously aged English cheddar. All 17 of us were blissful over our meals, and we shared the joy by shamelessly tasting each other's food. My sister sitting next to me had an exquisite 3-cheese torte. The room was warm and comfortable. We had plenty of space and excellent service. Cheerful servers. I'm sorry to gush, but this was a perfect dining experience. Thank you, again, for the wonderful evening.
